Why I was reading?
Story no: 5 Little Henry Forelocks
Once there was a queen who gave birth to a beautiful daughter with curly hair so, she was named Curlylocks. But soon a fairy appeared before the queen and said.” Your daughter will grow more and more charming and graceful as she grows up. But she will be very dull lacking all wisdom. Nevertheless, she will make the man; she falls in love with, very handsome as well.
In a nearby kingdom, another queen bore a son who had a tuft of hair on the front part of his head. So, he was named Henry Forelocks. He was very unpleasant to look at and her mother the queen, sighed wherever she took him in his arms. But a fairy appeared to her and said “
don’t be sorry o Queen!, he will grow up to be very wise and intelligent. He will make the woman; he falls in love with, very intelligent too.
Years rolled by and Curlylocks grew up to be an extremely charming lass, many young men were attracted by her charms but finding her too simple, they went away. It made Curlylocks very lonely and sad. She would walk into forest so that she might weep out her sorrow not letting anyone else see her weeping.
One day, curlylocks met Henry Forelocks in the forest who asked her to marry him. He explained to her that their marriage would end their troubles. Curlylocks gladly agreed to the proposal. Even then, Henry gave her one year to take her decision.
During this year, Curlylocks grew very intelligent. Several young men now came to ask her hand. But she waited fore the Henry who came at the year-end and fell to his knees before her.
Soon his ugly looks disappeared and Curlylocks was so pleased to find him an extremely handsome groom for her.
Both of them thanked each other. Their spells had broken. They went in for a marriage which was celebrated with great promp and show.
